About PassportSelf

PassportSelf is an online passport and visa photo formatting tool that helps users crop, size, position and prepare passport photos and printable 4×6 photo sheets according to published document photo requirements.

What PassportSelf does

You take a photo at home with your phone, upload it, and position your head using document-specific guides that reflect the published size, head-height and eye-position rules. PassportSelf then produces a digital photo at the required dimensions and a 4×6 print sheet containing multiple copies with cutting guides.

Why it exists

Passport photos are a formatting problem, not a photography problem. Studios charge a premium for a photo any modern phone can take; the hard part is the sizing and positioning rules. PassportSelf makes that part simple and inexpensive.

What it costs

A single one-time payment of $4.99 per photo, made only when your photo is ready to download. There is no account, no subscription, and you can preview everything before paying.

Privacy philosophy

Your photo is processed on your device whenever possible. PassportSelf does not send your photo to AI services, does not use generative AI to modify your appearance, does not use your photo for training, and does not include photo content in analytics. See our privacy policy for details.

Independence from government agencies

PassportSelf is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of State or any other government agency. We format photos to published requirements and cite the official sources on each document page — the final decision on any photo always belongs to the issuing agency.
