Refund Policy
Currently free PassportSelf tools do not involve a purchase and therefore are not eligible for refunds.
The passport photo maker and every other tool listed on PassportSelf tools are free to use — there is no payment step, so nothing can be charged or refunded.
Historical Paid Purchases
PassportSelf previously offered paid passport-photo downloads. The policy below applies only to purchases completed while that paid product was available, and remains published so past customers can reference the terms that applied to them.
When We May Issue a Refund
For a historical purchase, we may issue a refund if:
- You were charged more than once for the same purchase.
- Your payment was completed, but a PassportSelf technical error prevented your purchased files from being generated.
- PassportSelf was unable to make your purchased files available for download and we cannot restore or regenerate them.
These cases are verifiable through purchase and system records where possible.
When Refunds Are Generally Not Available
Refunds on a historical purchase are generally not provided when:
- The files were successfully generated and made available for download.
- A government agency declined a photo that was formatted to the published technical requirements — government acceptance was never guaranteed.
- The photo supplied did not meet non-technical requirements such as expression, background, lighting or head coverings.
- Files were lost after download, or the device or browser storage was cleared.
Repair Before Refund
For historical purchases, PassportSelf first attempts to restore or regenerate the purchased files. A refund normally applies only if we confirm that PassportSelf cannot provide those files after these attempts.
Requesting a Refund for a Past Purchase
Contact PassportSelf through the Contact page and include your Purchase ID or the email associated with your payment. Refunds, when approved, are returned to the original payment method.
